PSPF JOINS NATION IN COMMEMORATING 2026 INTERNATIONAL LABOUR DAY.
The Public Service Pensions Fund
(PSPF) on 1st May 2026 joined other institutions both public and private in
commemorating International Labour Day.
Commemorative activities were held across all ten provinces of Zambia, with the Lusaka event taking place at the Freedom Statue and officiated by Republican Vice President Mrs. W.K. Mutale Nalumango.
Republican President Mr. Hakainde Hichilema officiated at the national commemorations held in Chinsali District, Muchinga Province.
The 2026 Labour Day was
commemorated under the theme: “Securing Zambia's Future of Work: Protecting
Jobs, Skills and Pensions for Decent Work for All.”
In line with this theme, PSPF remains committed to safeguarding pensions and ensuring that every worker enjoys a secure and dignified retirement.
According to the International Labour Organisation (ILO), International Labour Day also known as the International Day of Workers or May Day is observed annually on May 1 and is dedicated to workers and labourers worldwide. The day celebrates their contributions and promotes awareness of workers’ rights.
