PSPF COMMEMORATES 2026 INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY.
The Public Service Pensions Fund
(PSPF) on 8th March 2026 joined the global community in
commemorating International Women’s Day at an event held at the Lusaka
Showgrounds, which was graced by Republican President Mr. Hakainde Hichilema.
The commemorations brought together
participants from various institutions, including the public and private
sectors, non-governmental organisations, and religious bodies, among others.
The 2026 commemorations were held
under the theme “Rights. Justice. Action. For All Women and Girls.”
In his address, President Hichilema
said the nation must continue to build a society in which every girl can thrive
and every woman’s voice is heard.
International Women’s Day, observed
annually on March 8, is a global occasion that celebrates the social, economic,
cultural, and political achievements of women. The day also serves as a call to
action to accelerate progress toward gender equality and the empowerment of
women and girls worldwide.
