NEW PSPF INTEGRITY COMMITTEE INDUCTED

The Public Service Pensions Fund (PSPF) has officially inducted a new Integrity Committee (IC), reinforcing its commitment to transparency, accountability, and ethical conduct across the Institution.

The newly inducted committee assumes responsibility from the previous team, whose three-year mandate ended in February 2025.

Speaking during the induction ceremony, PSPF Director of Human Resources and Administration, Mr. Derick Lungu speaking on behalf of Chief Executive Officer Mr. Francis Pindani Nyirenda emphasized the need for a proactive approach in safeguarding the Fund’s integrity. He urged the committee to actively engage staff on matters of integrity, encourage ethical behaviour and promote a culture of zero tolerance for corruption.

Mr. Lungu also underscored the committee's vital role in finalizing key governance documents, specifically calling for the prioritization and operationalization of the Gift Policy and Whistleblower Policy as part of the Fund’s broader integrity agenda.

And Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Assistant Director-Corruption Prevention, Mr. Kelvin Siwale, applauded PSPF leadership for its support of the Integrity Committee which he said reflects management’s dedication to fostering an ethical work environment and positions the Fund as a leader in integrity initiatives within Zambia’s public service.

The induction program, held from August 11 to 15, 2025, in Chongwe, equipped committee members with a comprehensive understanding of critical legal and ethical frameworks which will enable them to effectively oversee and support integrity-related matters within the Fund.

These included Administrative Law, the Public Service Code of Ethics, the Anti-Corruption Act, the Gift Policy, Conflict of Interest guidelines, and the Whistleblower Policy.
