PSPF RECOGNIZED AMONG INSTITUTIONS WITH LOWEST BRIBERY RATES
The Public Service Pensions Fund (PSPF) has been identified as one of the top three institutions with the lowest probability of bribery in Zambia, according to the recently launched 2024 Zambia Bribe Payers Index (ZBPI) survey report.
The Zambia Bribe Payers Index (ZBPI) Survey is a corruption measurement tool jointly undertaken by Transparency International Zambia (TIZ) and the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) that measures the probability and prevalence of bribery experiences in selected public institutions, and selected categories in the private sector.
The report, presented by independent consultant Mr. Mbingi Mufalo at Mulungushi International Centre on March 26, 2025, revealed that PSPF recorded a remarkably low bribery probability of just 12.5% after Zamtel (3.2%) and Road Development Agency (0.0%), positioning it as the third-best performing institution among the 29 public institutions surveyed.
This achievement highlights the effectiveness of the PSPF Integrity Committee, whose representatives were present at the launch event alongside other key stakeholders. The PSPF's exemplary performance demonstrates that effective anti-corruption measures and strong institutional integrity mechanisms can yield positive results.
The event was graced by the Secretary to the Cabinet, Mr. Patrick Kangwa, the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Board Chairman, Honorable Justice Evans Hamaundu (Retired), ACC Director General Mrs. Daphne Chabu and the Transparency International Zambia (TIZ) Executive Director Mrs. Priscilla Chanda Chikonde.
