PSPF ‘S DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION JOURNEY ELATES PARTNERS
The Public Service Pensions Fund (PSPF) on October 10, 2024 donated
scanners to the Ministry of Education and the Zambia Police Service as part of
its efforts to enhance the efficiency of pension processing for retired Public Service employees.
This initiative aligns with PSPF’s broader strategy to integrate systems
with key partners, enabling the rapid transmission of essential information and
reducing delays caused by handling physical files.
During separate handover ceremonies at the Ministry of Education
Headquarters and the Zambia Police Service Headquarters in Lusaka, PSPF Chief
Executive Officer, Mr. Francis Pindani Nyirenda, reiterated the Fund’s
commitment to reducing pension processing times from 21 days to 2 days.
Mr. Nyirenda said this initiative is part of PSPF’s 2024-2028 Strategic
Plan and aligns with the government’s broader effort to enhance e-services across
public institutions. He commended the Ministry of Education's liaison staff and
officers from the Zambia Police Service for their dedication in undergoing
training on the new system integration.
Ministry of Education Permanent Secretary for Administration, Mrs. Noriana
Muneku expressed her gratitude to PSPF for recognizing the ministry’s key role
in ensuring timely pension payments and noted that the scanners will improve
the operations of both the Ministry and PSPF.
And Deputy Inspector General of Police for Administration, Mr. Milner
Muyambango, who received the scanners on behalf of the Zambia Police Service,
praised PSPF for its commitment to improving service delivery by providing the
necessary tools for the electronic transmission of files.
